District 5 Co-op field is finalized
A trio of candidates have stepped up to vie for a seat on the Socorro Electric Cooperative’s board of trustees in the upcoming District 5 election.
The District 5 race features three candidates from the Magdalena-Datil area, including incumbent Charlie Wagner.
Joining Wagner on the Oct. 10 ballot will be Godin R. “Dean” Otero and Clark W. Bishop.
SEC member-owners who call District 5 home will get their chance to weigh in on who should represent them beginning at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10. The election takes place at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church Parish Hall in Magdalena.
The District 5 seat — like all 11 trustee positions — carries a four-year term.
Registration and voting begin promptly at 3 p.m. The election will be followed by a 7 p.m. business meeting.
Member-owners representing District 3 will head to Finley Gym on Saturday, Oct. 3, where three trustee seats are up for grabs.
The Position 1 race features incumbent and board vice president Harold Baca and challenger Dr. Donald Wolberg.
The Position 2 race will see incumbent Juan Gonzales face a challenge from Prescilla Mauldin.
The Position 3 race pits incumbent Herman Romero against challenger Luis Aguilar.
The District 3 election, begins a 3 p.m. sharp. Business meetings follow at 7 p.m.
