One injured on Monday in single-car roll over on I-25
Inclement weather may have contributed to an accident on Interstate 25, near Mile Marker 161, about 10 miles north of Socorro.
A woman was driving southbound on I-25 approximately 8:45 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 30, when the single-car crash occurred. The vehicle rolled over into the median and came to rest on its top.
Another driver, Micheal Soukrup, who was traveling from Albuquerque to Tuscon, was the first person on the scene and assisted the woman while waiting for law enforcement agencies to arrive.
“I was directly behind her,” Soukrup said. “I didn’t notice anything unusual about her driving.”
Soukrop said the driver was suffering from head lacerations, but otherwise appeared to be in stable condition.
“There was a lot of bleeding, but she was conscious when I got to her.”
Soukrop said that despite some light snowfall, there didn’t seem to be any ice on the highway.
At Chieftain press time, the identity and condition of the victim had not been released by the New Mexico State Police.
