Unauthorized salesman in area
El Defensor Chieftain has received several reports of a door-to-door salesman harassing Socorro residents. The complaints say the man claims to be from General Electric and wears a blue shirt with a GE logo. He reportedly asks to be allowed to place an alarm company sign in the yard, and offers to install a free alarm system in the house.
Residents have complained that the man uses aggressive sales tactics, and has to be asked repeatedly to leave the premises. Residents can notify the Socorro Police Department if anyone matching this description is seen in their neighborhood, by calling 575-835-1883.
