Minor disruptions to bus service
In spite of the weather-related problems that affected other departments, the city buses ran more or less normally during the week.
“We did have to cancel a couple of routes to the RailRunner because of the highway closing,” said Deborah Dean, director of the Heritage and Visitor Center where the Transportation Department is headquartered. “Otherwise, we’ve been running as much as usual, except that on Wednesday, we didn’t have the run from Alamo.”
Although that bus didn’t run Wednesday, it did run Thursday and Friday.
“Basically, we’re concentrating on keeping safe, and trying not to overwhelm drivers with extra rides,” Dean said.
Dean said no scheduled city events were disrupted by the freezing weather.
