Socorro Police Department

Feb. 1
• About 1:28 p.m., a male complainant on Highway 85 stated a female “friend” used his truck to go to Walmart. The complainant stated the female never went back to return the truck. The truck was entered into National Crime Information Center database.
• About 8:15 a.m., a male complainant stated that a male suspect threatened to kick his door down. The complainant stated that he and the suspect have had problems in the past.
• About 11:45 a.m., an officer arrested a female suspect on several valid warrants. The suspect was arrested, booked and incarcerated at the Socorro County Detention Center.
• About 5:51 p.m., an officer arrested a male suspect on a valid warrant. The suspect was arrested, booked and incarcerated at the Socorro County Detention Center.

Feb. 2
• About 2 p.m., an officer located a suspect highly intoxicated at a local business. The officer placed the suspect under arrest for his/her safety and the safety of others. The suspect was arrested, booked and incarcerated at the Socorro County Detention Center.
• About 2:15 p.m., an officer located a suspect highly intoxicated at a local restaurant. The officer placed the suspect under arrest for his/her safety and the safety of others. The suspect was The suspect was arrested, booked and incarcerated at the Socorro County Detention Center.
• About 3:45 p.m., an officer arrested a suspect on a valid warrant, and he was arrested, booked and incarcerated at the Socorro County Detention Center.
• About 8:45 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in Lemitar after a report of a fight. Officers met with the male complainant who told them that the male suspect had come to his house wanting to fight. The complainant said the suspect punched him in the face The complainant said he then took the suspect to the ground and made the suspect leave. No contact with suspect.

Feb. 3
• About 11 a.m., a male suspect was served with an arrest warrant while incarcerated at the county jail.
About 11:15 a.m., a male complainant reported that a female suspect stole his bike last week. The officer made contact with the female suspect who denied the allegations.
• About 8 p.m., a victim reported several items taken from a rental house on West Street. The house was rented by a male suspect. Total value of the  stolen items were $116.00.
• About 10:55 p.m., a female victim reported a broken window on her vehicle. No leads to any suspects at this time.

Feb. 4
• About 1:08 p.m., a female suspect was stopped for a traffic violation on I 25 MM 147. The officer noted an odor of marijuana. A search of the vehicle was conducted and a small amount of marijuana and a pipe to smoke it was located. The suspect was cited.
• About 1:08 p.m., an officer assisted on a traffic stop. A K-9  police dog was used to search the vehicle and a small amount of marijuana was located.
• About 11:38 p.m., an officer stopped a vehicle on Frontage Road for a traffic violation. The vehicle was being operated by a female suspects juvenile daughter who did not possess a driver’s license. The suspect was not able to provide proof of insurance or registration. The suspect was cited and the vehicle was towed by Quick & Easy.

Feb.  5
• About 2 p.m., a female suspect was arrested on Otero Street on a bench warrant and was arrested, booked and incarcerated at the Socorro County Detention Center.
• About 8:30 p.m., a female victim reported a male suspect took a tobacco pipe without paying from a local business. The suspect was issued a citation. The tobacco pipe was not recovered. Total loss $12.00.

Feb. 6
• About 1:18 p.m., a female victim reported two (2) rings stolen while she was being treated at the local emergency room. The officer met with the hospital staff who stated they never saw the victim with any rings. The total value  of the two (2) ring totaled $7,000.00.

Socorro County Sheriff’s Department

Feb. 6
• About 1:50 p.m., an officer assisted the CDWI compliance office. The officer advised that the male suspect had a warrant for his arrest. The officer confirmed the warrant and the suspect was placed under arrest, and transported, booked and incarcerated at the Socorro County Detention Center.
• About 6 p.m., an officer assisted the CDWI compliance office. The officer advised that the female suspect had a warrant for her arrest. The officer confirmed the warrant and the suspect was placed under arrest, then transported, booked and incarcerated at the Socorro County Detention Center
• About 8:30 p.m., a vehicle was parked on Highway 380 and State Road 1 in San Antonio. An unknown vehicle was backing up and failed to see a parked vehicle and stuck it while backing. The driver of the unknown vehicle failed to report the crash and left. The vehicle sustained damage to the rear left fender.

Feb. 7
• About 1:30 p.m., an officer met with a reporter and learned that she had taken possession of evidence given to her by a male suspect. The evidence was of a crime of embezzlement which is being investigated by the Socorro Police Department. The officer had reported turning over the evidence to a Socorro Police Department officer.

Feb. 9
• About 3:22 p.m., an officer spoke with a complainant on Highway 304 in Veguita. The complainant stated that the female suspect pumped $61.31 worth of gasoline into her vehicle. When the suspect came in to pay she advised the victim she only had $5.20. The victim stated he allowed the suspect to return to her home for the rest of the money. The suspect did not return. The license plate of the vehicle was obtained by the victim but the vehicle came back registered to another person.
• About 5:30 p.m., an officer met with a complainant in Bernardo who stated unknown suspects broke into his crane and took metal rings, cables and shackles. An attempt to gain entry into a storage compartment was made but suspects were unable to cut the lock. A description of the possible suspect and the suspect vehicle was given to the officer.

Feb. 12
• About 8:39 p.m., an officer was advised of a drug buster call coming into the state police dispatch. The officer was given a description of the vehicle reported. The officer located the vehicle and a traffic stop was conducted. The officer met with the suspect/driver and had him exit the vehicle. The suspect was walking to the rear of the vehicle supporting himself against the vehicle. The suspect admitted to taking prescription medication, four (4) different types. The suspect was then taken to the Socorro General Hospital for a blood test. The suspect was released pending the results of the blood test. The vehicle was towed.

Feb. 13
• About 9 a.m., an officer assisted the CDWI compliance office. The officer advised that the male suspect had a warrant for his arrest. The officer confirmed the warrant and the suspect was placed under arrest, then transported, booked and incarcerated at the Socorro County Detention Center.
• About 9:10 a.m., an officer assisted the CDWI compliance office. The officer advised that the male suspect had a warrant for his arrest. The officer confirmed the warrant and the suspect was placed under arrest, then transported, booked and incarcerated at the Socorro County Detention Center.
• About 10:40 a.m., an officer assisted the CDWI compliance office. The officer advised that the female suspect had a warrant for her arrest. The officer confirmed the warrant and the suspect was placed under arrest, then transported, booked and incarcerated at the Socorro County Detention Center.

Feb. 15
• About 1:40 p.m., a suspect was located on Church Street. The suspect was highly intoxicated. The officer also learned that the suspect had a warrant for his arrest. The officer confirmed the warrant and the suspect was placed under arrest, then transported, booked and incarcerated at the Socorro County Detention Center.

Feb. 17
• About 2:14 p.m., an officer was called to the Socorro County detention center. The officer advised that the male suspect was turning himself in due to his having an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The officer confirmed the warrant and placed the suspect under arrest, then transported, booked and incarcerated him at the Socorro County Detention Center.

Feb. 19
• About 5:28 p.m., an officer pulled over a vehicle on I-25 at MM 149 for a traffic violation. The officer met with the suspect/driver and detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage omitting from the vehicle. The officer administered field sobriety tests to the suspect, which he failed. Suspect agreed to be tested and was transported to the detention center. The suspect was cited for open container and following to closely.
