Socorro Pumas nab first place

The Socorro Pumas of the American Youth Soccer Organization were back in action again on May 19 and 20 at the AYSO Duke City Shootout in Bernalillo, N.M.

The girls brought home first place after winning four games in two days, all coming by way of shutout.

On day one of the tournament, the Pumas blanked the Albuquerque Flames 4-0 and the Albuquerque Warriors by a score of 3-0. On day two, they beat the Albuquerque Dragons, also by a score of 4-0, and then wrapped up their weekend by taming the Los Lunas Vipers with a 7-0 shutout. The Pumas won their games with a total score of 18-0. In their last two tournaments, Socorro has allowed just two goals next to 36 scored.
