DARNELL – Frances Louise Darnell, 73, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 9, 2012 in Socorro, NM. She was born in Tucumcari, NM on October 9, 1938, to  Edward V. and Gladys Z. (Wagner) Birchfield.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Ervan Birchfield. Louise is survived by her devoted sons, Jimmy Darnell and Floyd Darnell both of Socorro; her loving daughter, Tina Smith and her husband, David J. of Los Lunas, NM; her loving brother,Vernon Birchfield and his wife, Rusty; her grandchildren, Amber and Michael Reno, Bridgette, Mathew, Natasha, Edward, Buster and Alex Darnell; and numerous great grandchildren. Louise was a resident of Socorro since 1985. She managed many motels in New Mexico, Texas and Arizona including the Super 8 and the Best Western Golden Manor, both in Socorro. She retired last year after 46 years of managing. She was an avid bird watcher and liked to paint with oils. She loved animals and was especially fond of horses. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, June 18, 2012 at 1:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Socorro with Pastor Bob Farmer officiating. ROMERO – Albert Eugene “Al” Romero Jr., 49, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 15, 2012. He was born in Socorro, NM on September 14, 1962, to Albert Eugene Sr. and Rowena S (Sarracino) Romero. Al was a lifelong resident of Socorro. He was a happy go lucky guy who never met a stranger. He served the Community of Socorro as a GED and Spanish instructor and worked with the fatherhood program. He also worked for New Mexico Tech for many years. He served as a mayordomo for the San Antonio Parish in his younger years.  Al enjoyed golfing, watching the Dallas Cowboys, and visiting flea markets to collect antiques. Al was an avid drummer and loved to play music.  Above all things, Al loved his family and his many friends to the fullest. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Pete and Julianita Romero; and Eloisa A Gonzales and Cooney Sarracino; and his nephew Eddie Vasquez Jr. Albert is survived by his loving parents, Gene and Rowena Romero; his devoted sons, Albert Eugene Romero III and wife Martha; James Rodney Romero and wife Mary; and Charles Raymond Romero; One grandchild, Wyatt James Romero; his sisters, Evelyn Vasquez and husband Eddie; Roberta Niles and husband Richard; Rolinda Rosales and husband Marty; his nieces and nephews Ariana, Nathan, Phillip, Justin, Tyler, and Marinarae; and many friends. A Memorial Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at 7:00 pm at San Miguel Catholic Church. A Memorial Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Thursday, June 21, 2012, at 10:00 am also at San Miguel Catholic Church with Father Andrew Pavlak as Celebrant. Interment will take place in the Polvadera Cemetery. Pallbearers are Albert Eugene Romero III and James Rodney Romero. Honorary pallbearer is Charles Raymond Romero. NARANJO – Aurora Naranjo, 78, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 17, 2012 at her home in Socorro, NM surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Socorro, NM on August 28, 1933, to Juan and Josefita (Saiz) Lucero. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, George, her parents, her sister, Lola Montano, and her brothers, Johnny and Tony Lucero. Aurora is survived by her loving daughters, Carleen Trujillo and husband, Chuck; and Bernadette Gonzales and her husband, Salomon Sr.; her devoted son, Christopher Naranjo; her loving sisters, Ellen Padilla, Stella Castillo, and Susie Gallagher; her loving brother, Gilbert Lucero; her grandchildren, Sal Jr. and Ronnie Gonzales, Michael G. and Alex C. Trujillo, and Christina Edrington; great grandchildren; Alexis, Ryan,Vincent,Tristan and Grayson Gonzales, and Lianee, Christopher G., Desiree and Bethaney Edrington. Aurora was a avid Raiders Football fan and enjoyed watching ESPN.  Her main passion and pride and joy were her grandchildren and great grandchildren. A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at 8:30 am at the San Miguel Catholic Church  followed by a Mass of the Resurrection at 9:00 am with Father Andrew Pavlak as Celebrant. A graveside interment will be held on Friday, June 22, 2012 at 9:00 am in the San Miguel Catholic Cemetery.
