SILVA – Nick Silva Jr., 61, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 30, 2012 at his home in Socorro. He was born in Socorro on Dec. 27, 1950, to Nick Sr. and Edith (Moya) Silva. Nick is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years, Amada Silva; his loving sons; Victor Silva; Jorge Silva and girlfriend Julie Acosta; Rick Silva and girlfriend Stephanie Martinez; Valente Silva and wife Rose; and his loving daughter, Monica Gonzales and husband Phillip; his brothers, Sonny Silva and wife Cecilia; Larry Silva; Bobby Silva and wife Georgia; Tino Silva and wife Michelle; Jerry Silva; James Silva and wife Rosie; Timmy Silva; his sisters, Mary Ann Silva; Cindy Anchondo and husband Lazaro; Bonnie Montoya and husband Max; Peggy Silva; Jeannette Chavez and husband Steven. Nick was also survived by 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren who adored him very much and many other loving family and friends. Nick was a lifelong resident of Socorro and everyone knew him by name. You could always catch him at the Socorro Warrior football and basketball games, as he was an avid fan. Everyone knew Nick as friendly and kind man, and he was always willing to lend a hand. A Rosary was recited on Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, at 10 a.m. at San Miguel Catholic Church followed by a Communion Service which was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. with Deacon Mike Ybarra officiating. Interment was held in the San Miguel Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were Sonny Silva, Larry Silva, Bobby Silva, Tino Silva, James Silva, and Timmy Silva. Honorary pallbearers were Ricky Silva Jr., Andrew Silva,Valente Silva Jr., and Brandon Gonzales. EBERHARDT – Jeremy Ann Eberhardt, 59, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 29, 2012, in Socorro, NM. She was born October 03, 1952, in Cleveland, OH to Don and Frances (Hill) Kessel. Jeremy held a Bachelors degree in Communications from Ohio State University and was an avid gardener and reader. She also enjoyed the arts and the outdoors, especially family outings with the MG sports car clubs. Above all, Jeremy was very devoted to her family and truly a beautiful person through and through. She is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, William Eberhardt of Rio Rancho, NM; her devoted daughter; Kaitlynn Eberhardt; her brother & sister-in-law, Jeff and Carol Kessel; several nieces and nephews; and of course her adored dogs, Ziggy and Scruffy. PERRY – Glenn Perry, 87, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 30, 2012, in Albuquerque surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Sweetwater, Okla. on Feb. 2, 1925, to William H. and Iva (Howell) Perry. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved son, Gary; his granddaughter, Duana; two sisters; and one brother. Glenn was a resident of Socorro since 1954. He was a jack of all trades, a hard working man, and he loved all types of work, from just working around the yard to farming, building and mechanics. He was a mechanic for John Deere, Carl Oliver Ford and Tolivers for years. Glenn enjoyed riding his four-wheeler, traveling and camping with his family. Shelling pecans every season became a hobby. Above all, Glenn was most devoted to his family. He taught his children and grandchildren, the values of hard work, faith, honesty, loyalty, and integrity. Glenn is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Betty Perry; his devoted son, Larry Perry and wife, Michele; his loving daughters, Charolette Jones and husband, Wilton; Shanna Allison and husband, Frank; and Cheryl Crosley and husband, Randy; and his daughter-in-law,Vanetta Perry. Glenn also enjoyed 17 loving grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren; his devoted dog, Sammy; and many other loving family members and close friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, Aug. 3, at 2 p.m. at Socorro County Fairgrounds – Kelly Hall. Interment will be held on Saturday, Aug. 4, at 10:30 a.m. in the Greer Cemetery.
