Alamo holds general election, several tribal slots open Nov. 6
The Alamo Chapter’s general election process takes place after the primary election, and some candidates move on from the primary to the general election, said community service coordinator Denise Ganadonegro. There are ballots available for the Nov. 6 election at the Alamo Chapter, she said. Residents can vote at the Alamo Chapter House from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The election process is to elect a chapter president and five school board members. Some of the candidates have more experience than others, she said.
Chapter president candidates are Stanley Herrera and Hector Guerro; vice president candidate is Earl Apachito; and secretary/treasurer candidates are Veronica Smith and Veronica Apache. The Land Board candidates are Steve Apachito and Wendell Apache. Voters can select five members out of the following candidates for the Alamo School Board: Annabell Pino, Corta P. Apache, Genevieve Apachito, Angela Apache, Hector Guerra, Ella Singer, Stanley Herrera, Bucky Apache, Steve Guerro and Earl Apachito.
“People need to come out and vote. This is for the future,” Ganadonegro said. “Whoever is selected should do a good job.”
