ESTRADA – Josie (Padilla) Estrada, 79, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at home surrounded by family and friends in Albuquerque. She was born at her parents’ ranch in San Lorenzo Canyon on Sept. 4, 1933, to Herminio and Doloritas (Romero) Padilla. Josie was a dedicated lifetime member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Josie is survived by her brothers Lauro Vigil, Albuquerque, and John Vigil, San Antonio; and her sisters Flora Millfelt, Santa Clara, Calif., and Beatrice Chavez, Socorro. She was a loving mother to Albert Estrada of San Antonio and Linda Wilcox and Reuben Estrada, of Albuquerque. Josie was also a loving grandmother to Robert Lee IV, of Albuquerque, Christopher Wilcox of Sacramento, Calif., Benjamin Estrada of San Antonio, Zachary Estrada (preceded in death), Christian Estrada of Orange, Calif., Alyssa Estrada of Albuquerque and Reuben Estrada Jr., of Albuquerque. Visitation will be held Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at 10 a.m. with the memorial service beginning at noon in the Strong-Thorne Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services, 1100 Coal Ave. SE, Albuquerque, NM 87106, (505) 842-8800. ROMERO – Geraldine Romero, 77, passed away peacefully Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Lemitar to Jaun P. Aragon and Jaunita (Sedillo) Aragon. She is was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Higino Romero; her beloved brothers Connie Aragon and Bennie Aragon; and grandsons Randy and Christopher Gonzales. Geraldine is survived by her daughter MaryAnn Zamora and husband, Joe, of Socorro, and Telesfora De La Cruz of Albuquerque; son Jake Contreras of Albuquerque; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sisters Vivian (Benny) Armijo, Lucy Cano, Femie (Larry) Montoya, all of Socorro. The rosary and funeral masses will be held Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at 10 a.m. Burial will immediately follow at San Miguel Cemetery. The pallbearer will be Alex Zamora.
