ALEGRIA – Richard (Pineapple) Alegria, 85, passed away Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, in Socorro. He was born in Olaa, HI on Aug. 25, 1927, to Alexandro and Olivia (Victorino) Alegria. He served in the Navy during World War II and was honorably discharged in 1946 as a Petty Officer No. 2. After his service to his country, he worked as an auto mechanic — a very good one. Alegria and Lance Jones; his extended family including Harold of Fremont, Calif., Jesse and Ron of Ripon, Calif., Gloria of Milpitas, Calif., and Frank of Socorro. Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at 1:30 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 N Guadalupe Street, Santa Fe. The family gives a special thanks to the Luciano Gallegos family for making our Dad’s life easier to live, also to the staff of the Socorro Good Samaritan Society and to the Socorro Senior Center.
