Whether you partner up with a pal or soar solo, make plans today to join the adults arts party, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on March 23 at the Bodega Burger Co.'s banquet room.

Similar to the annual Community Arts Party in February, the Arts Party Adult Night offers a variety of hands-on art projects in a 21-and-over environment with the aim of raising funds for the Performing Arts Series outreach programs, and to bolster PAS coffers to help keep ticket prices among the lowest in the state.

"The adults arts party is a great way to have fun and support performing arts in the Socorro community," said PAS Director Ronna Kalish. "Bring a friend and make an evening of it!"

Admission is $25 and includes gourmet appetizers, access to a variety of arts and crafts projects, participation in a silent auction, casino games, live music and a complimentary glass of wine.

Kalish explained that funds are used for educational outreach activities, such as the youth concert series, whereby touring artists give free concerts to school children from Alamo to San Antonio as a way of introducing them to the performing arts.

Funds also are used to support the Community Arts Party, the annual July 4th Celebration, and the National Dance Institute residency program.

Auction items include paintings, photos, jewelry, pottery, excursions, services, gift baskets and more.

Among the arts projects are jewelry-making, gourd-painting, sunglasses, clay, mosaics, paper cutting, corn husk dolls, pysanky eggs and many others.
