Socorro Warriors Junior Wrestling team 2012-2013

The Socorro Warrior 2012-2013 junior wrestling season ended in March with 20 total wrestlers participating from ages 5 to 15.

The team attended four regular tournaments, one district, one state and one national tournament.

Below is a list of the wrestlers, how many years they have been wrestling and how they did at each tournament.

15 and Under

Antonio Gonzales, wrestled for five years. Attended four tournaments. Earned a third-place medal and two fourth-place medals.

Kevin Gonzales, wrestled for four years. Attended six tournaments. Earned two second-place medals and three third-place medals.

Michael Guerra, wrestled for four years. Attended three tournaments. Earned a fourth-place medal and a second-place medal.

Tyler Mata, wrestled for two years. Attended six tournaments. Earned first-, second- and two third-place medals.

Jason Peralta, wrestled for two years. Attended three tournaments. Earned a second-place medal and a third-place medal.

Dustin Armijo, first-year wrestler. Attended five tournaments. Improved his skills and got better with each tournament. Earned a fourth-place medal.

12 and Under

Aaron Gonzales, wrestled for four years. Attended all seven tournaments. Earned a fourth-place medal. Tough competition, improved at each tournament.

Zachary VanWinkle, wrestled for four years. Attended three tournaments. Won three matches.

Andre Gonzales, wrestled for five years. Attended all seven tournaments. Earned a second-place medal in a very tough bracket. Won six matches.

10 and Under

Gavin Armijo, wrestled for two years. Attended four tournaments. Won six matches.

Nicolas Gonzales, wrestled for four years. Attended all seven tournaments. Earned a first-place medal, three second-place medals, a third-place medal and a fifth-place medal.

Iziah Montoya, wrestled for two years. Attended two tournaments. Earned a third-place medal.

8 and Under

Aiden Armijo, wrestled for two years. Attended four tournaments. Earned a fourth-place medal and won several matches.

Chailynn Amaro, first-year wrestler and the team’s only girl. Attended all seven tournaments and made huge improvements.

Roe Bishop, first-year wrestler. Attended five tournaments and made huge improvements.

Moises Castillo, wrestled for two years. Attended all seven tournaments. Earned five third-place medals, a fourth-place medal and a sixth-place medal.

Gauge Johnson, first-year wrestler. Attended all seven tournaments. Earned two second-place medals and three fourth-place medals.

Kane Johnson, first-year wrestler. Attended all seven tournaments. Earned two third-place medals and two fourth-place medals.

Sean McNeil, wrestled for two years. Attended all seven tournaments. Earned one first-place medal, one second-place medal, one third-place medal, three fourth-place medals and one sixth-place medal.

Joel Partridge, first-year wrestler. Attended all seven tournaments. Earned a third-place medal among very tough competition.

6 and Under

Isaiah Ocampo, first-year wrestler. Attended two tournaments. Earned a fourth-place medal.
