FAJARDO – Erma Fajardo, 75, passed away peacefully Friday, May 10, 2013, in Socorro. She was born in La Joya on July 6, 1937, to Juan T. and Cecilia (Armijo) Peralta. Erma grew up in La Joya and graduated from La Joya High School in 1956. She moved to Socorro in the late 1950s and has been a resident for over 50 years. Erma enjoyed taking care of her cats and her chickens. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Florentino Peralta and Fidel Peralta. Erma is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Eugene Fajardo, of Socorro; beloved brothers Pete Peralta and his wife, Mary, and Procopio Peralta; beloved sister Maria Vigil; and numerous nieces and nephews. The holy rosary will be recited Friday, May 17, 2013, at 8:30 a.m. at San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real, Socorro, NM 87801. A celebration of the Mass of Resurrection will follow at 9 a.m. with Father Flavio Santillanes as celebrant. Burial will take place at San Miguel Catholic Cemetery following services. SILVA – Kenneth Silva, 29, was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 11, 2013. He was born in Socorro on Sept. 10, 1983, to Lawrence Silva and Veronica Gonzales. Kenneth was a lifelong resident of Socorro. He graduated from Socorro High in 2002 and enlisted in the United States Army for four years. He served in the 20th Engineer Brigade (Combat) (Airborne Corps). Kenneth was a very compassionate person and made friends with everyone he met. He always knew just what to say and always left you with a thought or a quote to think about. He enjoyed listening to music, spending time with friends, golfing, football and fishing, and he was an expert at chess and even poker. Kenneth was an avid Denver Broncos fan. He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Michael Silva, in 1986; his grandfather Avelino Gonzales Sr.; and his baby nephew Steven Michael Xavier Silva. Kenneth is survived by his loving mother, Veronica Gonzales, and companion Arturo Benavidez; his devoted brothers Lawrence M. Silva Jr. and companion Tasha, and Steven M. Silva and companion, Angel; his grandparents Maria C. Gonzales, and Mike and Rosemary Silva; his nephew Gabriel Silva; one nephew on the way; and many other loving family members and close friends. A visitation was held Wednesday, May 15, 2013, from 3 p.m.-5 p.m. at Daniels Family Funeral Services – Socorro Chapel, 309 Garfield St., Socorro. The holy rosary will be recited Thursday, May 16, 2013, at 10 a.m. at San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real, Socorro, followed by a communion service at 10:30 a.m. with Deacon Mike Ybarra. Interment will take place in the San Miguel Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers are Lawrence M. Silva Jr., Steven M. Silva, Ramon Terrazas, Michael Roberts, Kenny Rivera and Miguel Martinez. ZAMORA – Betty (Mary E.) Zamora, 98, a resident of Albuquerque for 20 years, formerly of Socorro, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Moises S. Zamora. Betty is survived by her daughters Theresa Z. Zebrowski, of Albuquerque, and Barbara Z. Beane, of Cambria, Calif.; sons Joe R. Zamora, of Ann Arbor, Mich., and Moe Zamora and partner, Guy Lisella, of Santa Fe; daughter-in-law Irma Gonzales, of Santa Fe; brother Manuel Saiz and wife, Lucia, of Austin, Texas; four grandchildren, J. Andrew Zamora (Melissa), Mark A. Zamora (DeAnne), Elizabeth Hill (Gene), and Melanie Stahl (Teddy); and seven great-grandchildren. Betty was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. A rosary was recited Friday, May 10, 2013, at 7 p.m. at FRENCH – University. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday, May 11, 2013, at 9 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 619 Copper St. NW.  Interment followed at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers were J. Andrew Zamora, Mark A. Zamora, Gene Hill, Teddy Stahl, Shane Hill and Gannon Moises Zamora. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Betty’s name to the Old San Miguel Mission Building Fund, 403 El Camino Real, Socorro, NM 87801.
