Magdalena, Quemado high schools turn out close to 40 graduates for 2013

Quemado High School graduated 15 seniors on Friday evening during commencement ceremonies in Quemado. Emily Farranti was the Valedictorian, and Amanda Sirman Salutatorian. Both recently returned from the 1A state track meet in Albuquerque with medals, and each spoke about their experiences and future goals during ceremonies. Superintendent Bill Green addressed the seniors along with guest speaker David Lackey.

Meanwhile, also on Friday evening, Magdalena High School turned out 23 graduates during their commencement ceremonies. Valedictorian Aubriana Gutierrez addressed her classmates.

The commencement address was given by Pier Gutierrez, a MHS alumni.
