ZAMORA – Patrocinio G. Zamora, 75, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 11, 2013, with his family by his side. He was born in Magdalena on May 17, 1937, to Nazario and Lupe (Garcia) Zamora. Patrocinio was a lifelong resident of Luis Lopez. He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He enjoyed the outdoors and was very fond of his dogs. People always say a dog is a man’s best friend, and coincidently, Patrocinio’s dog also passed away peacefully on the same evening, perhaps to walk with him into heaven’s gates. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Marian Marino; his brother Ernest Zamora; and his nephews Ernie Zamora Jr., Floyd Savedra Jr. and Bobby “B.J.” Zamora. Patrocinio is survived by his devoted son Joseph Concho and companion, Nicole; his grandson Jeremy Concho; his brothers Jimmy Zamora and wife, Barbara, and Ray Zamora; his sister-in-law Beatrice Zamora and family; his brother-in-law Eddie Marino; his aunts Maria Garcia and Isabel Arevelos; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A holy rosary was recited Friday, May 31, 2013, at 8:30 a.m. at the San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real, Socorro, followed by a Mass of Resurrection, which was celebrated at 9 a.m. with Father Andrew Pavlak as celebrant. MONTOYA – Roger Montoya, 60, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 23, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Albuquerque on May 21, 1953, to Max C. and Mary (Archuleta) Montoya. Roger loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also had a green thumb when it came to growing plants. He was preceded in death by his mother. Roger is survived by his father; his sisters Linda Orosco, Virginia Montoya, Annabella Lucero, Loretta Gomez and her husband, Joe, Doreen Montoya, Margaret Ferrales and her husband, Art, Eva Louise Boothroyd and her husband, Buzz, and Eva Belle Moya and her husband, Larry; his brothers George Montoya and his wife, Lisa, Michael Montoya and his wife, Theresa, Eron Montoya and his wife, Roseann, and Ernest Montoya and his wife, Heidi; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. TROY – Russell (Russ) W. Troy, 83, a resident of Albuquerque since 1969, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2013. He was born in Michigan City, Ind. Russ was preceded in death by his former wife, Alice J. Troy, in May 1995 after a long illness. They were married after high school in 1947. He is survived by sons Stephen Troy, of Magdalena, and Darrell Troy, of Sunland, Calif.; daughter Vicki McCormick, of Irvine, Calif.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter. He is also survived by wife, Dorothy Troy; four step-children; seven stepgrandchildren and two step-great-grandsons. Russ started a five-year apprenticeship with the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union in 1951, which became his lifelong career. He retired from Pinon Mechanical Services in 1994. Russ became a Boy Scout scoutmaster when his sons were involved in scouting while living in Phoenix in the early 1960s. He has enjoyed square dancing and has been a longtime member of FMCA and Cuartro Estados RV Club. Russ’ family would like to thank Linda Upchurch for her very special care over the last five years. A special thanks goes to ABQ Home Care/Guided Light and Sol Amor Hospice Team for the wonderful care they provided during the past two years. Friends visited FRENCH – University on Tuesday, June 4, 2013, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. A funeral service was held at French – University on Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at 10 a.m. Interment followed at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. A reception was held after interment at the Vineyard Retirement Community Clubhouse located at 6118 Edith Blvd. NE.
