Local Auctioneer receives Outstanding Achievement Award

Rudy Olguin, originally from Socorro, received an outstanding achievement award in Arizona from Pinal County Livestock Board for his contribution as an auctioneer and supporter of the annual Pinal County Fair.

In 1986 Rudy went work for Manhiem Auto Auctions and sold throughout the southwestern United States till 2011 when he was diagnosed with multiple myeloma cancer.

Rudy was named as one of the top ten auctioneers in world completion in 1990 in San Antonio, Texas, and again in 1992 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Rudy also won Arizona State Champion Auctioneer in 1988, 1989, 1993.

Rudy donated his time as a fund raiser auctioneer for the Ben Jonson Pro-celebrity rodeo Children’s Hospitals; YMCA of Las Vegas for Y Not Nite, which generated in excess of $1 million. Rudy has always enjoyed and considered it an honor to contribute his talent to many fundraising auctions.

When Rudy started his career as an auctioneer he was the only bilingual auctioneer in the southwest. Rudy’s knowledge of NAFTA laws and membership in the Union of Independent Auto Dealers in Mexico allowed him the opportunity to be an asset in the United States and Mexico as an auctioneer.

Rudy said he is very thankfull to God and everyone who assisted him on his journey as an auctioneer.
