MCLEMORE – Helen B. McLemore went to be with our Lord on Saturday, June 1, 2013.  She was preceded in death by her husband, James G. McLemore, to whom she was married for 63 years until he passed away in 2005. She is survived by her son James V. McLemore and his wife, Ginger; brother Robert Hentz; sister Louise Haas; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.  Helen will be very missed by her family. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed crocheting, quilting and knitting.  Helen’s life was celebrated with a graveside service at Fairview Memorial Park (700 Yale Blvd. SE) on Tuesday, June 4, 2013. Pallbearers were Chris Noel, Jason DeBaca, John Montoya, Floyd Hewitt, Bill Haas and Virginia McLemore.  Honorary pallbearers were Robert Hentz and Larry Seigman. WAGGONER – Memorial services for Helen B. Waggoner, age 98, of Hideaway, Texas, and formerly of Socorro, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2013, at the First Presbyterian Church in Socorro with the Rev. Jeffery A. Finch officiating. Mrs. Waggoner was born Sept. 16, 1914, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of the late Winfield R. and Edna M. (Nelson) White. She passed away Sunday, June 2, 2013, at her residence in Hideaway. Mrs. Waggoner lived in Hideaway for the past two years after moving from Socorro, where she lived for over 70 years. She was a housewife and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Socorro where she organized rummage sales, organized bereavement dinners, visited the ill and was active in the League of Women Voters. Mrs. Waggoner married Claron E. Waggoner on Jan. 13, 1934, in Kansas City, Kan. They moved to Albuquerque in 1935 and then to Belen where their son Claron Jr. was born. In 1942, they moved to Socorro where their daughter Barbara K. was born soon after. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claron E. Waggoner. Mrs. Waggoner is survived by a brother, Ray A. White, of Lincoln, Neb.; son Claron E. Waggoner Jr. and wife, Sharon, of Socorro; daughter Barbara K. Wright and husband, Jerry, of Hideaway, Texas; grandchildren Michael Waggoner and wife, Merlinda, Mark Waggoner and wife, Holly, Laura Leseberg and husband, Vernon, Brenda Wilson and husband, Will, Stephanie Pipkin and husband, Eric, Diane L. TRIPP – Karen Tripp, 72, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2013. She was born in Albuquerque on Dec. 8, 1940, to Don L. and Elinor (Earl) Tripp. Karen moved from Albuquerque to El Paso, Texas, in the early 1950s where the family ran the city parks. She graduated from Burgess High School in 1958 and lettered in high school chorus. Karen moved to Socorro in 1963 with her family and worked in the family jewelry store, Tripp Jewelers, for 35 years. She is best remembered for her great personality and friendly greeting to all customers who visited the jewelry store. Karen wrote “Karen’s Korner” for El Defensor Chieftain for 20 years. She loved announcing weddings, births and describing all the social events around town. Karen was a life member of Beta Sigma Phi and dearly loved all her sorority sisters and the great socials around town. Karen spent the last several years at Good Samaritan in Socorro where she was the keeper of the social birthday calendar. Karen loved all the residents of Good Sam and considered them her second family. She was preceded in death by her father, Don L. Tripp Sr. Karen is survived by her brother Don L. Tripp Jr. and wife, Rosalind; her mother, Elinor Tripp; nephew Don Tripp III; niece Kimberly Gonzales and husband, Lonnie; and great-nieces and nephews Jordan Gonzales, Teghann Gonzales, McKenna Gonzales, Thea Tripp, Casey Tripp and Donald Tripp IV. A viewing will be held Monday, June 17, 2013, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Daniels Family Funeral Services chapel, 309 Garfield St., Socorro, with services to follow at 10 a.m. with Alex Thyssen officiating. Burial will be in the Socorro Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Don Tripp III, Lonnie Gonzales, Rick Coddington, Danny Trujillo, Bob Tacker and Pat Gonzales. Honorary pallbearers are Jordan Gonzales, Teghann Gonzales, McKenna Gonzales, Thea Tripp, Casey Tripp and Donald Tripp IV.
