Stingrays hope to sting Orcas and divert Hurricanes

One hundred and twenty of Socorro’s youth will swim against the Hurricanes and Orcas on Saturday. The Socorro Stingrays, Socorro’s league swim team, will host the Belen Hurricanes and Albuquerque’s Jewish Community Center Orcas this Saturday in Socorro. The Stingrays are part of the Sundance Aquatic Association, a recreation league in the Albuquerque area. The Stingrays were first established in the 1970s as a club team, and part of the Unites States of America Association.

The swim meet will start at 9 a.m. at the Socorro municipal swimming pool. Events are expected to last until approximately 1 p.m.
