Mirabal wasn’t the only Socorro County 4-H’er to bring home awards. Chazlin LeSueur brought home two buckles — one for breakaway roping average and one for heeling (roping) average, and Melissa Gabaldon came home with the heading (roping) average buckle.

Deekota Chavez, Jaxson Mirabal, Joren Mirabal, and Cathryn Welborn also participated from Socorro County. Events included junior barrel racing, junior pole bending, novice goat wrangling, junior goat wrangling, novice and junior breakaway roping, junior ribbon roping and junior team roping.

The Socorro County 4-H Club will host its own rodeo on July 6 and 7, at the Socorro County Fairgrounds.
