Sun Country Junior PGA tees off at Tech
Youth from around the region competed in the Sun Country Junior PGA tournament, a South Central Section Professional Golf Association’s
junior golf tournament held at New Mexico Tech Golf Course in Socorro on July 15 and 16.
The SCSPGA Players Tour is a series of two-day events held at premier golf facilities within the South Central Section PGA borders. All events are nationally ranked by Junior Golf Scoreboard and introduce tour members to a professional tournament experience. The 36-hole events throughout the series provide members an opportunity to build their golfing resume and prepare for the college golf experience while competing against the best of their peers on the best golf courses.
To ensure top fields and the highest competitive environment, players are required to verify their abilities meet minimum handicap requirements (Boys — 9.1 or lower, girls — 18.1 or lower). Players will be given the opportunity to demonstrate the ability to produce appropriate scores during single-day Junior Tour events. All SCSPGA Players Tour members will have the ability to participate in all SCSPGA Junior Tour events in addition to the Players Tour series.
