N.M. 152 closed for rehabilitation
New Mexico Highway 152 is closed from July 23 at 6 a.m. until Aug. 5 at 6 p.m. as maintenance crews work to re-seed and mulch various areas along Highway 152, in an effort to rehabilitate the area after the Silver Fire damaged the terrain in early June.
The New Mexico Department of Transportation will assist the U.S. Forest Service with traffic control during this process. Highway 152 will be closed from mile marker 22 to 39.2 as the Forest Service places large bales of straw for re-vegetation. This closure is necessary in order to protect the traveling public as large equipment will be moving in and out of areas.
Updates and traffic alerts will be posted on the department’s website — www.NMroads.com, and may be retrieved by calling 511 in New Mexico or 1-800-432-4269 out of state. For more information regarding this work, contact Gene Paulk, P.E., NMDOT assistant district engineer-maintenance, at 575-544-6554, or Bridget Spedalieri, NMDOT District public information officer at 575-525-7340.
