County seeks public ICIP input
Socorro County seeks public input for the county’s infrastructure capital improvement plan for fiscal years 2015-2018 and future Community Development Block Grant projects.
The Socorro County Commission holds public hearings for input at its regular August meetings, 10 a.m. Aug. 13 and 6 p.m. Aug. 27 at the County Annex building, 198 Neel Ave., Socorro.
The ICIP is the county’s road map for future capital outlay and allows the administration to better prepare for funding opportunities. Following public input, projects will be ranked and placed on the final ICIP.
The commission wants to know which public projects are most important to county citizens. The county may be eligible to apply for state and federal grants, including CDBG funds, and projects must be placed on the plan for funding consideration.
Individuals or organizations with projects that would benefit the public and should be considered can obtain request forms from the county manager’s office at 210 Park St., Socorro, or from the county’s website at www.socorrocounty.net. Public projects could include road improvements, equipment purchases, new buildings and more.
Projects currently rated most urgent include roof repairs on county buildings, development of the Socorro County Detention Center, bridge repairs, and improvements to San Antonio Park and Polvadera Park.
