TRUJILLO — Antonio “Tony” J. Trujillo, 81, a longtime resident of Magdalena, died peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family Monday, Aug. 26, 2013. He was born in Socorro on Sept. 5, 1931, to Manuel and Margaret (Pino) Trujillo. Tony suffered for many years from Alzheimer’s disease.
He was well known for his “cowboy skills” and love of the cowboy way. He served his country in the United States Army. Tony worked on many ranches throughout his life. He was also employed by Grefco. He retired from the Magdalena Dormitory, drove school buses and served on the Magdalena School Board. He was extremely active in the Magdalena Old Timers Association and served as its president.
Tony was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Gomez Trujillo; sons James Trujillo and Leroy Trujillo; and brother Marcario Trujillo. Antonio is survived by son Pat Trujillo; daughter Denise Pino and her husband, Adrian; daughter Marcella Peralta and her husband, Kenneth; daughter-in-law Vida Trujillo; daughter-in-law Juanita Vigil; brothers Manuel, Joe, V.D. and Tommy Trujillo; sisters Barbara Bowden, Cleo Latasa and MaryAnn Lukesh; and sister-in-law Cora Gomez, as well as grandchildren Eva Stamper and husband, Jake; Angelica, Ambrosio and Patrick Trujillo; Mario Peralta; Lucas Cearley and companion, Jessica; Zachary and Anthony Trujillo; Heather Orozco and companion, Gino Otero; Kali Orozco and companion, John Sanchez; West Trujillo and wife, Destri; and Cord Trujillo. He is also survived by step-grandson Michael Erwin, and great-grandchildren: Gunner Stamper; Chance Cearley; Andy, Isiah and Felicity Otero; Ryder Orozco-Sanchez and Westie Rose Trujillo. Rosary was recited Friday, Aug. 30, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the St. Mary Magdalene Church in Magdalena. Celebration of the Mass of Resurrection was Friday, Aug. 30, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalene with Father Robert Jeffers as celebrant. Burial was in the Magdalena Cemetery with military honors. Pallbearers were Lucas Cearley, Anthony Pino, Zach Pino, West Trujillo, Ambrosio Trujillo, Patrick Trujillo and Mario Peralta. TAYLOR — Faron “Pico” Frank Taylor, age 43, a resident of Santa Fe, born on Jan. 8, 1970, in Silver City, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, while surrounded by family and friends. Pico was an assistant coach to the Santa Fe High School football team. He was very passionate about making a difference in the lives of his players as well as his friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Susa, Faron and Otila Gutierrez. Pico is survived by his parents, Frank and Gloria Taylor; his children Kyra, Malaura and Isaiah; sisters Jessica Taylor and family, and Crystal Taylor and family; his aunt and uncle Ruthann and Facio Gomez and family; and extended family.
A memorial was held Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the Datil Well Campground in Datil. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made out to Crystal Taylor, to be donated to the New Mexico Kidney Foundation in memory of Pico.
