STIENBARGER — Melissa Dawn Stienbarger, 43, of Guymon, Okla., died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013. Services will be at 11 a.m., Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel of Amarillo, Texas. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery in Amarillo.

Melissa was born Aug. 3, 1970, in Socorro to Charley and Kathy Sage. She adored her children and family and loved to write poetry.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charley R. Sage.
Survivors include her husband, C.W. Stienbarger; three children, Jay, Tristan and Brooklynn; her mother, Kathy Sage; sister Shawna Sage and husband, Leonard; brother Charley R. Sage Jr. and wife, Adrianne; her grandmother Marie Gray; the father of her children, Shane Clem; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and countless friends. WELCH — Stephen “Steve” Lee Welch, 66, passed into the arms of Jesus on Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, in Socorro with his loving family by his side. He was born in San Antonio, Texas, on Aug. 1, 1947, to Fred and Polly (Jackson) Welch.
Steve’s father was a career military man and the family lived in places such as England and the Philippines, where Steve graduated from Wagner High School. He served his country as a United States Marine and also served for a time in the Peace Corps in the early 1970s. Steve graduated from the New Mexico School of Mines in 1992 with a bachelor’s degree in engineering. Steve was a member of the Socorro Masonic Lodge No. 9 and St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. He enjoyed flying remote control airplanes. He was instrumental in organizing American Youth Soccer Organization soccer in Socorro in the early 1980s.
Steve was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and a friend to many. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents. Steve is survived by his wife of 27 years, Susie Jean (Weber) Welch; his children Stephanie O’Toole and husband, Matt, Katy Welch and fiance, Lony Cunningham, Nghia Ngo and wife, Michele, and Nick Welch and wife, Isabelle Mulin; sisters Sherry Welch Thom, Marilyn Marquis, and Suzan Johnson and husband, Bo; and grandchildren Joshua, Gabriel and Andrew Ngo, and Jaxson O’Toole.
A celebration of Steve’s life will be held Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 1000 Goad, Socorro, with Pastor Reuben Thomas officiating.
