Fiesta 2013 set to go
San Miguel Fiesta 2013 is from Friday through Sunday as a various array of events happen at and around San Miguel in Socorro.
Fiestas 2013 begins with Vespers with the coronation of the Senior King and Queen Florencio and Juanita Saavedra at 5 p.m. on Friday in temporary church (former church hall — also called the Capilla de Todos los Angeles) immediately next to the fiesta grounds in the back part of the San Miguel property. Right after the coronation, all the fiesta booths will open and the music will start and continue until 11 p.m.
Saturday of Fiestas 2013 will start with a parade down California Street from Sedillo Park at 10 a.m. All Fiesta booths will open at 11 a.m. and will remain open until 11 p.m.
In the parade will be floats and classic cars with additional classic cars that will be on display from 6 p.m. until 11 p.m. At 5 p.m. San Miguel hosts the Blue Mariachi Mass where officers of the police department, sheriff's department, fire department and security officers from all over the county are honored.
Sunday of Fiestas 2013 will open with the Fiesta Mass at 10 a.m. in the temporary church/Capilla de Todos los Angeles with a procession to follow to the plaza and back to the fiesta grounds. Immediately following the procession, the fiesta booths will open, music will play and all will continue until 7 p.m.
Each evening during the enjoyment of all the many music groups that will be coming will be the raffle results for the main prizes and the silent auction too.
