Warriors football improving
Coach Cody Lee gives a pep talk to Warrior Gabriel Sanchez, No. 2, during the Sept. 27 night’s game against the Pojoaque Valley Elk. The Socorro Warriors football team continues to show great strides of improvement in their game, but not enough for a win on Friday night. The Warriors had 23 first downs in just over 27 minutes of possession time. Defense has improved, but still needs more work on agressive tackling, and they need better blocking for the offense. Warriors lost 14-35. Sophomore Jonah Mauldin scored a receiving touchdown in the first quarter, but the kicker missed the extra point. Freshman Mike Armijo scored a rushing touchdown in the third quarter, and a two-point conversion was successful.
