Driver dies in rollover
A Magdalena woman was killed in a single-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 60 on Tuesday morning when her vehicle rolled multiple times.
Socorro County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Ed Sweeney said Jolinda L. Dallim, 64, was driving eastbound on U.S. 60 when the accident happened. Dallim was driving a Chevrolet Tahoe SUV, which rolled several times and came to a rest on its passenger side.
Sweeney said the reason for the accident remains unknown; Dallim apparently lost control and overcorrected. He speculated that the sun could have blinded Dallim at that time of the morning. He noted the passenger side tires had been off the pavement for a considerable distance before tracks indicated they returned to the road, with the crash site just a little further down the road from that point.
The sheriff’s department received the call about 7:48 a.m., and Sweeney said Dallim had probably been on her way to work. She worked at Socorro General Hospital.
Sheriff’s deputies notified Dallim’s husband not long after the accident happened.
