The second annual SocorroFest Pet Parade showcases costumed pets and their owners.
"The pet parade is a great way to get out, get active, and look good at the same time," said organizer Cynthia Connolly.
Prizes will be given out for the best costume, the funniest costume, and the "Most Socorro Costume."
Registration is from 11 a.m. to noon. The parade will start at noon and proceed down Neel Street to the plaza. All small household pets are welcome, but leave the horses and other livestock at home. Adults have to accompany children, and owners have to sign a waiver certifying their pets have current vaccinations and are not vicious.
The pet parade attracts mostly dogs and their owners.
"Last year, we had 21 dogs, one cat and one mouse in a basket," Connolly said.
Donations to the Socorro animal shelter and the local school gardens project will be accepted.
