Two Socorro schools locked down this morning
Socorro High School was locked down this morning from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. said Socorro Consolidated Schools Superintendent Randall Earwood.
An initial report from a student at a different school said a student took a gun to the high school, Earwood said. After a thorough investigation by the Socorro Police Department and New Mexico State Police, it was determined to be unfounded.
As part of the investigation, Earwood said, because a student at middle school was named, Sarracino was locked down briefly around 9:30 a.m. but as that was quickly determine to not be a credible lead, the lock down was lifted shortly.
“It was an impressive investigation by state and Socorro police,” Earwood said. “I would really like to thank both of those departments, they did an awesome job.”
