New mission statement for NM Tech
New Mexico Tech has formed a Strategic Planning Committee that will be developing a new three-to-five-year plan for the university.
According to a press release, the 27-member committee will focus its attention on developing Tech’s mission statement and vision statement, in preparation for establishing the university’s goals.
Committee members include staff members, faculty members, research staff, administrators, students, alumni and community members. Committee chair is Lorie Liebrock from Graduate Studies.
“As we collectively look toward the future of New Mexico Tech, this Strategic Plan will help focus the overall efforts of faculty, staff and administration toward a set of common goals,” Liebrock said. “Even though we are early in the process, it’s been energizing and inspiring to share ideas with others on campus.”
The group will meet every other week and will continue to meet throughout the year. The goal is to have a new Strategic Plan document finalized by January 1, 2015.
The committee will post public documents about meetings, discussions and decisions at its website, http://www.nmt.edu/spc-home. Regular announcements, updates and emails will be distributed periodically to the campus community.
