MARTINEZ — Maria Del Rosirio Martinez, 47, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 3, 2014, with her children by her side. She was born in Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, on April 27, 1966 to Juan and Francisca (Lara Hermosillo) Hernandez. Maria was a Socorro resident since 1995. She loved listening to music and enjoyed  watching her novellas. Maria was a very strong and devoted mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents. Maria is survived by her loving children, Jose; Veronica; Jessica; Elizabeth; and Rebecca; her grandchildren, Leonel Manuel; and Alvaro Gustavo Gamez; and many other loving family members and friends. PAINE — Betty E. Paine, age 71 and a resident of Socorro, passed away Friday, March 7, 2014, in Albuquerque, NM. She was born in Gallup, NM, on August 12, 1942 to John and Lexie (Beaty) Adams. Betty grew up in Albuquerque and graduated from Valley High School. She worked as a nurse’s aide at the Presbyterian Hospital for a couple of years and moved to Socorro, NM, after marrying Robert Paine in 1969. Betty enjoyed working puzzles and she was a member of the Relief Society at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Socorro. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers, Roger Adams and Johnny Adams. Betty is survived by her husband of 44 years, Robert Paine; her sons, Matthew Paine and Bruce Paine; one brother, Robert Adams; and her sister, Vickie Southall and husband, Ron. Services will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at 11:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1112 El Camino Real, Socorro, with Bishop Mark Hoopes officiating. Interment to follow at the Socorro Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert D. Adams, Stacey Adams, Johnny L. Adams, Tom Grife, Connie Grife, and Sandra Bourquet. HARVEY — Gene Edwin Harvey passed away on March 11, 2014, at the age of 82 with his family by his side. Gene was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. His family was his pride and joy. Gene was able to touch many lives while here on earth and he will forever be remembered for his kind words, warm smile and unconditional love.  We will always love you and your memory will forever by engraved in our hearts. Gene was preceded by parents Burnett and Opal Harvey and brother Jerry. Gene is survived by his sister Waynette and husband Larry and his sister-in-law Sue. He is also survived by his love, Marcia Elkins, daughter Gina and husband Blair, son Dale and wife Cheri, daughter Annette and husband Ross, son Bryan and wife Cindy and mother of his four children, Judy Harvey. He was proud of his eleven glorious grandchildren and five great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  Gene’s passion for horses began in Ft. Sumner on the Harvey Ranch at the early age of 4 years old. HECKEL — Maria E. Heckel, 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 8, 2014, with her family by her side. She was born in Chihuahua, Mexico, on September 19, 1927 to Dionicio and Maria (Santos Campusano) Nunez. She was a Socorro resident for about four years. She also resided in Albuquerque and in El Paso. She loved to have company and would cook for everyone. She loved flowers and knew the secret of keeping beautiful green plants. Maria enjoyed crocheting and watching her “novellas”. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers and sisters; three grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Maria is survived by her daughters, Ana Maria Cereceres; Guadalupe Barley; Deloris McDaniel and husband, Emery; her son, Edward Heckel; and many other loving family members and close friends. Maria will also be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Gabriella; Ricardo; Juan; Elizabeth and husband, Rueben; Roberto and wife, Elizabeth; Christy and husband, Gerron; William and companion, Shauna; Neola and husband, Gerald; Casey and wife “Rosie”; and 23 great grandchildren.
