Lady Warriors ‘mercy rule’ Hatch
The Hatch Bears were no match for the Lady Warriors in a softball double header last Thursday at Hatch. The mercy rule ended each game in the third inning with scores of 26-6, and 19-2 respectively.
Between the walks, singles, and triples, the Lady Warriors were already up by eleven runs and had gone through their line up by the end of the first inning.
The Bears only scored three runs even though they had the bases loaded.
The second inning ended with the score at 17-4 with the Lady Warriors on top.
Six more runs were added the scoreboard in the third inning and the Lady Warriors were up 23-3.
Hatch’s last attempt to score came from walks, but Lady Warrior Jazmin Williams-Ortega shut them out. The mercy rule was then invoked, ending the game.
The Lady Warriors hitting momentum didn’t stop as they went through their line up one and a half times in the first inning, putting the Lady Warriors in the lead 10-0.
The Lady Warriors then expanded their lead to 12-1.
The Lady Warriors scored seven more runs in the third inning. Hatch only scored one more run at their last turn at bat. The Lady Warriors then cruised to victory with a score of 19-2, the game again stopped by the mercy rule.
