Another successful season of adult basketball concluded March 24 with X-Factor taking the end of the season tournament, with a score of 84-66 against Los Originals.

Players for X-Factor include: Brice Sandoval, Tyler Rosales, Justin Zuni, Tony Garcia, Brandon Romer, Humberto Lucero, Andre Gonzales, Michael Padilla, and Jared Marquez.

Players for Los Originals are: Andrew Baca, Pete Silva, Levi Del Curto, Abel Morales, Nelson Iverson, Jeremy Montano, Jason Greenwood, Kevin Haley, Joseph Santillanes, and Moises Castillo.

Captain Jared Marquez said his team is fast and is constantly hustling.

“(They) shoot the ball well and fast break the best,” he said.

Los Originals player Abel Morales, nicknamed “Big Easy,” chimed, saying that for his team’s first time playing together, they “did well and it wasn’t easy.”

Finley Gym Director Josh Kerns said the season went well because the teams were more balanced.

“The matches were more competitive on all levels, which made for great games,” Kerns said.

Assistant Director Valerie Alonzo agreed with Kerns, as the more balanced teams seemed to “reduce the tension from the past.”

“It’s still competitive, but well-balanced,” Alonzo said.

Players for season tournament-winning X-Factor were Marquez, Brice Sandoval, Tyler Rosales, Justin Zuni, Tony Garcia, Brandon Romer, Humberto Lucero, Andre Gonzales and Michael Padilla.

Players for Los Originals were Morales, Andrew Baca, Pete Silva, Levi Del Curto, Nelson Iverson, Jeremy Montano, Jason Greenwood, Kevin Haley, Joseph Santillanes, and Moises Castillo.

X-Factor will take on the New Mexico Tech intramural team in the second annual “Townie vs. Techie” game later this year.
