BACA — Ruth C. Baca, 81, of Magdalena, N.M. passed away Thursday, June 12, 2014. Ruth was born Sept. 19, 1932 in Riley, N.M. to Conrado and Elisea Aragon. Ruth is survived by her husband of 59 years, Robert Baca; and children: Mona and Steve Tenorio of San Antonio, N.M.; Lemuel and Linda Baca of Albuquerque, Sandra Baca and Gloria Vigil of Los Lunas, Cheryl and Harold Lucero of Corrales, Karen and Billy Godinez of Clines Corners, Bryan and Renee Baca of Magdalena, Andre Baca of Phoenix, Ariz.; 23 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brothers Frank Aragon of Albuquerque and Lawrence Aragon of Riley. She is proceeded in death by her parents, sister Della Peralta and grandchildren Josslyn Baca and Jerome Baca. She was an active member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church and choir. Rosary and service was held at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church on Monday June 16, 2014, followed by interment at Santa Rita Church in Riley NM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, in Ruth’s honor. TURNEY ­— Annette V. Turney, 73, entered into heaven’s gates on Wednesday, June 4, 2014. She is survived by her daughter Jessica Turney; her beloved grandchildren Steven and Raylynn Johnson, and by all who knew  and loved her! Annette was an inspiration to all those around her. She had a huge thirst for knowledge that lasted all of her days. She was always a “Techie” at heart. She had many hobbies which she did to keep  working her brain :) Her legacy will live on forever in the hearts of all who loved her. A memorial is planned for Saturday, June 21 at 11 a.m. at the Potters House Church. All are welcome to share with us in celebrating the life we will miss dearly. I Love You Mommy XoXo

BELLOW — Joseph Donald “JD” Bellow, deeply loved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed from this life to everlasting life with our Lord Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, June 9, 2014 at the age of 82. He was born on Sept. 7, 1931 to Pierre Bellow and Ivey in Ged, Louisiana. In his adult life he worked on the tug boats on the Mississippi River, until he developed asthma and moved to New Mexico. JD began working for El Paso Natural Gas. Then he worked as an Iron worker Local 495 where he retired. He then worked at Vista Del Rio Mobile Home as a manager. JD had a love for the great outdoors, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and four wheeler riding. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 57 years, Joanne James Bellow; two daughters, Sue Bland and husband, David, Estelle Pavioni and husband, Kasey. He was a proud grandfather of Amanda Sanchez and husband Juan, Bonnie Bland and fiancé Mark Horstmann, Sara Gallegos and husband Josue, Jesse Bland and wife Jenna, Aaron Smith and wife Amber, Rachel Smith and fiancé Joe Trujillo, Aubrey Alguire and husband Robert; great-grandchildren, Luke Sanchez , Hailey Bland, Augustus Sanchez, Bethany Gallegos, Morgan Bland, Emily Gallegos, Shannon Bland, Leandra Alguire, Brooke Alguire, Caleb Gallegos, Vivana Trujillo, and LaLaine Smith. JD is also survived by his brothers and sister, Charles Bellow, Dorothy Newman, Donald Bellow, Ronald Lee Bellow and wife DeJuana, in addition to many loving nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their gratitude to UNMH for their wonderful care and thank all family and friends who have provided their support and love during this time. HAHN — Eugene B. “Gene” Hahn, 75, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 with his loving family at his side. He was born in Mesilla, N.M. on Nov. 2, 1938 to Henry Julius and Ruth Estell (Hall) Hahn. Gene was a resident of Magdalena, N.M. for about the last six years. He and his wife Sue met in Tucson, AZ and then happily started their family in Norwalk, Calif. Gene had many jobs, but his greatest accomplishment during the 12 years in California, was that he was a Boy Scout Master and Leader, he enjoyed that so and was very proud of that. Gene, Sue and the Boys then moved to Enumclaw, Wash. This became home and where the family started, owned, and operated their Heavy Duty Truck and RV Repair shop for thirty years. He was a proud masonic and shriner member. Fishing was always, Gene’s passion and at retirement he and Sue boarded their boat “Simpatico” and traveled all the National Parks and the inside passage to Alaska. Gene was a devoted family man, and his family meant the world to him. He was genuine in his faith with the Lord. Gene will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents. Gene is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Susan M. (Sizemore) Hahn; his devoted sons, Mark and wife, Karen; Scott; and Jim and wife, Laura; his loving sister, Darlene Snyder and husband, Leon; nephews, Wes and wife, Juanita; and Les and wife, Mary; and many close fishing buddies. Gene, especially enjoyed his five grandchildren, Courtney (Sonny); Nick; Nicole (Shane); Jayson (Tara); and John. He found great joy in May, when he met his great grandson, Greyson and he will be in spirit when great grandbaby Ava arrives. BAXTER — JoAnn Carmelita Baxter, 60, passed away peacefully Friday morning, June 13, 2014 with her loving family at her side. She was born in Socorro, N.M. on Oct. 29, 1953 to Charles Thomas and Sally (Padilla) Stiers. JoAnn was a lifelong resident of San Antonio. She was an administrative assistant and the heart and soul of the Seventh District Judicial Courthouse of Socorro and retired after 31 years. JoAnn was the kindest person you could ever meet, she gave so much of herself to everyone she knew. She always had a smile on her face and never met a stranger. She was an avid reader and owned more books than the public library. Her family was her life. Her beloved parents, and her sister, Carol Gunther, preceded her in death. JoAnn is survived by her devoted daughters, Karolyn Baxter and Mikayla Trujillo Baxter. JoAnn will be greatly missed by her brother, Charlie Stiers and wife, Amy; her nieces and nephews, Sean Stiers, who was the very sunshine of her life; Page and Anthony Pomo; Tom Gunther; JoAnne Gunther; Gayle and Mike Carver; her devoted cousin, Irene Pargas, who stayed by her side until the very end; and many other loving family members and close friends. A Celebration of JoAnn’s life will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Seventh District Judicial Courthouse in Socorro. A pot luck style reception will follow, please bring your favorite dish, memories and stories to share in honor and reflection of JoAnn’s life.
