Socorro junior golfers Ricky Silva Jr. and Sean Moore topped all golfers with scores of 72 and 73, respectively, at the Sun Country PGA Junior Tour Tournament held at New Mexico Tech Golf Course July 14-15.

Competing alongside Silva and Moore in the boys 16-18 division were local youth Dennis Woods (83), Will Benson (85), Isaiah Anaya (87) and Jeremy Gallegos (100). In the girls 16-18 division, Mia Salome represented Socorro, finishing second with an 87.

From left, Lexi Lucero (first), Aubrey Anaya (second) and Miquela Martinez (third) were the top finishers in girls 13-15.

Brett Anaya took top honors in the 13-15 division, shooting a 74. Meanwhile on the girls’ side, Aubrey Anaya finished second with an 87.

From left, Mia Salome (second) and Shelby Turner (first) were top placers in girls 16-18.

Golfers ages 7-12 played nine holes, while players 13 and older played a full round of 18 holes.

From left, Bowen Jones (first), Tyler Jackson (second), Tristen Toledo (third) and Rylee Salome (first) all competed in the 7-9 division.

Rylee Salome won first place with a score of 60 in the girls 7-9 division. Fellow Socorro golfer Autumn Bjorklund finished second in the 10-12 division with a 52.

From left, Peyton Jones (first) Hurley Breedyk (second) and Brooks Eggleston (third) were top placers in the boys 10-12 division.

On the boys’ side, Josh Walsh put up a 68 and Jeremiah Avery finished with a 75.
