Aladdin auditions

More than 70 local youth attended Monday's audition for a role in the Missoula Children's Theatre's production of Aladdin.

Join Aladdin as he ventures into a swirling sandstorm of famous Arabian Tales from Ali Baba to Scheherazade and even Sinbad the Sailor when the Missoula Children's Theatre and more than 60 local students perform an original musical adaptation of Aladdin.

The local cast features Robinson Ford as Aladdin and Ixchel Valentino as his Mother. Jenna Thunborg as Princess Dory and Kurt Kimble as her father the Sultan, along with his adviser the Grand Vizier played by Eryn Esquibel. Jeanette Otero and Kacey Thunborg are the keepers of the Book of Answers, Dinazade and her sister Scheherazade. Daniel Bowles as The Mysterious One and Jenna Olney, Hailey Whitney and Kathleen Johnson as the mischievous Genies. A stubborn Donkey and spunky Goat are played by Johanne Hansen and Madison Lopez. Scheming Cassim and Ali Baba played by Malka Samuels and Iriana Valentino. Sinbad, Ithan Valentino and his Sailors Abigail Baca, Amelia Gonzales, Emilia Olivares, Jonae Rosas, Zahra Sahyoun, Ryland Timmons, Liyah Torres and Kailyn Woods, wise-cracking Palm Trees played by Ramiele Chavez and Keller Ford, and Malia Pargas, Miriam Pias and Zea Shillington as fleet-footed Camels. The Cave of Wonders are played by Abby Cadol, Zoe Garcia, MariJo Morales, Riley Sewell and Jiayi Zhu, and Vagabonds played by Sebastian Aafloy, Liam Demorest, Izabella Gutierrez, Rylan Hicks, Sarah Montgomery, Brendan Reichenbach, Xander Shillington, Aiden Smith, Joshua Smith and Avery Timmons, and a pack of lost Penguins are played by Janeah Angel, Payton Durkin, Aria Finch, Freya Hansen, Lavelle Jacobs, Kira Kimble, Ethan Montgomery, Analie Montoya, Mia Morales, Remington Ortiz, Ayya Fayyaza Prisikelia, Tatum Rosales, Brody Sanchez, Shianne Sanchez, Westie Rose Trujillo, Alex Zhang. Serving as Assistant Directors will be Scout Adams, Jacob Angel, Esperanza Lopez, Isibeal McFadden and Jacquelyn Mauldin.

Piano accompaniment will be provided by Socorro’s own musician-thespian Rose Carilli.

Aladdin will be presented at 1 and 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 15 at the Finley Gym. Tickets are $5 for adults and free for youth 17 and under. Tickets are available at rehearsals at Finley Gym and at the door.
