Charles D. Finch, 66, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at his home in Los Chavez, N.M.
He was born in Albuquerque, N.M., on June 24, 1952, to Arvil L. and Doris L. (Easley) Finch.
Charles graduated from Socorro High School and attended Western New Mexico University on a football scholarship. He returned to Socorro before graduating to run the family gas station after his dad passed away. Charles drove a truck for ABF freight for 22 years before retiring in 2002. He enjoyed hunting, cowboy polo and putting model trucks together. He also loved to fish. Charles was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Belen. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Lucille Tindell; brother, Richard Finch; brother-in-law, Jim Lucksinger; and grandchild, Ezra.
Charles is survived by wife of 44 years, Diane (Oakes) Finch; son, Chad Dwayne Finch and wife, Laurel; daughter, Mindy Kay Gonzales and husband, Brian; sister, Judy Lucksinger; brother, Arvil Finch Jr. and wife, Nelda; grandchildren, Taylor Gonzales, Glory Finch, Tristen Gonzales, Curtis Finch, Rawley Finch, Myron Finch, Teller Finch, Vance Finch.
Visitation was held on Saturday, December 1, at 8:30 am, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2199 NM 304, Belen, with funeral service afterward at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Socorro Cemetery , Socorro, NM.
Pallbearers were Chad Finch, Tristen Gonzales, Brian Gonzales, Jake Finch, Jeff Finch, Troy Norcross, Jared Robinson. Honorary Pallbearers are Curtis Finch, Rawley Finch, Myron Finch, Teller Finch, Vance Finch.
