Chester was born on April 10, 1943. He was the 2nd son of Louis Grandjean and Lenore (Gallegos) Grandjean. Chester attended Mt. Carmel Catholic School, Socorro High School and completed college at New Mexico Institute of Mining & Technology. Chester had a long career with the Bureau of Land Management starting in Socorro, with assignments in Phoenix, Ariz., Elko, Nevada, and retiring in Taos, N.M. after 33 years.
