Jessie Joan Russell, 71, passed quietly away and into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, at her home in Edgewood, N.M., on May 23, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.
Joan was born to Joe and Jessie Wilson on September 11, 1947 in Magdalena.
Joan was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Richard Wilson.
Joan is survived by her loving husband of nearly 18 years, Lawrence "Russ" Russell of the family home, her sister Betty Ann McCan of Edgewood, her sons Jerry (Cindy) Russell and Clay (Tauni) Russell, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Joan is also survived by her sister Sybil Cearley of Drury, Mo. and her brother JC (Lyn) Wilson of Elko, Nev., numerous nieces and nephews, her aunt Elsie McIntosh of Missouri and her uncle Bud (Molly) Riley of Missouri.
Joan loved to spend time with her husband, go fishing, crochet and spend time in her garden. Her most important pastime was to sit out on her porch with a glass of iced tea or a cup of coffee and enjoy time with her family.
Joan was lovingly taken care of by her husband and sister (Betty) during her nearly 3-year battle with cancer, and for that the ENTIRE family will be eternally grateful! Rest in Peace, Joan. You deserve it!
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16
