Russell Stewart Senn, born September 8, 1959, tragically lost his life near Belen, New Mexico on July 3, 2019. He was just 3 months shy of his 60th birthday.
Russell was born in Socorro, New Mexico, and remained a resident there his entire life. Russell was a heavy equipment and truck operator. One job he was proud of was transporting materials to build the Magdalena Ridge Observatory on Baldy Peak, west of Socorro. You can see the observatory glisten in the sun today. He traveled the roads throughout the United States transporting goods to various locations.
He loved his 18-wheelers.
Russell was known by his family, community, friends and neighbors to be a compassionate, caring, loving and free-spirited kind soul.
He loved fishing, playing golf, riding motorcycles, and everything about aviation. He especially enjoyed flying with his brother, David. He loved animals particularly his German Shepherd, Duke. It was also not uncommon to find him out in the desert searching for and collecting interesting treasures, relics, arrowheads, and beautiful stones. He spent years of his life researching antique violins, with an emphasis on violin maker Joseph del Guarnerius of Cremona, Italy. He traveled the country with his research.
Russell is preceded in death by his loving parents Col. Raymond L. Senn and Frances E. Senn.
He is survived by his sister, Cindi Senn and his brothers Steve Senn (Shirley), Sam Senn (Jane), Randy Senn (Prescilla), and David Senn (Kerry) and their families, including five nieces Sandy (Greg), Rachel, Victoria, Anne, Amanda (Chris), and Jennifer (Tristin) and five nephews Raymond, Matthew (Claire), Christopher, Raymond (Danielle) & Bryan (Amanda).
