Daylight Saving Time begins tomorrow (Sunday). Be sure to set clocks ahead one hour before going to bed.
Veterans Service Officer visit
Veterans Service Officer Theresa Zuni will be in Socorro on Friday, March 19, 9 a.m. to noon, at the Socorro City Hall Council Chambers. The service officer can assist veterans and their families with paperwork or answer questions concerning the VA system. For more information, contact DAV Commander Peter Romero at 575-835-0843.
Forestry camp applications
The Socorro Soil and Water Conservation District is accepting applications for N.M. Forestry Camp from students ages 13-17, who are residents within the boundaries of SWCD. The Socorro SWCD will sponsor the registration and camp fees for two students to attend. For applications and more information, call 575-838-0078. The deadline to apply is Tuesday, April 13.
Mid-West CAP applications
The Mid-West New Mexico Community Action Program is now taking applications under the FEMA program for Socorro County. The program helps with utilities and mortgage or rental assistance. For more information, contact Florrie or Virginia at 575-835-0899, or stop in at 904 Spring St.
Pesticide training
A pesticide training course will be held at on Wednesday, March 17, 8 a.m., at the Socorro County Annex Building located at 198 Neel Ave. For more information contact Tom Dean at 575-835-0610.
Nursery school has openings

YDI-VIDA healthy meals funding
