Couple to wed in June

Kelly Armstrong and Eric Kern have announced their engagement upcoming wedding.

Kelly is the daughter of Dale and Gail Armstrong, of Magdalena.

Eric is the Son of Bill Kern, of Silver City, and Patricia and Joe Chapman, of Safford, Ariz.

Kelly is currently a student enrolled at New Mexico State University. She will graduate in December with a degree in Elementary Education. She is planning a career as a middle school science teacher.

Eric graduated from Western New Mexico University with a degree in Forestry & Wildlife. He is a successful guide and outfitter, and also works part time for the U.S. Forest Service.

Eric and Kelly met in August 2007. Eric proposed to Kelly on Feb. 21, after getting her father's permission and approval — Kelly happily accepted.
