NRAO Colloquium, 11 a.m. — Array Operations Center. Paul Vanden Bout speaks on "Glimpses of Star-Forming Gas in the Early Universe."

Tech Club-Club Macey, 5 p.m. — Macey Center. A social hour for those who are 21 and over. Serving contemporary Latin hors d'oeuvres.

SHS Basketball fundraiser, 6:30 p.m. — Socorro High School Gym. The Harlem Ambassadors combine fast-paced, dazzling basketball with comedy routines for a night of family entertainment. Tickets in advance are $7 adults, $4 students, children 5 and under are free; tickets are available at the Chamber of Commerce located at 101 Plaza. Tickets at the door are $18 adults, $5 students. Proceeds go to benefit the SHS basketball team. Sponsored by Chamber of Commerce and Socorro High School basketball team.

ACM Freshman Programming Competition, 7 p.m. — Speare 4. Tech's Association for Computing Machinery chapter hosts the freshman programming competition. Free pizza for all and prizes for top contestants!

Civil War Reenactment — Various places around Socorro. A reenactment of the fight between Union and Confederate soldiers at the historic battle of Valverde, which was the only lancer charge of the Civil War. Charles, 575-835-2530.
