Civil War Reenactment Various places around Socorro. A reenactment of the fight between Union and Confederate soldiers at the historic battle of Valverde, which was the only lancer charge of the Civil War. Charles, 575-835-2530.

Spring Work Day at the Sevilleta Refuge, 9 a.m. The Sevilleta National Wildlife Refuge, Visitor Center. Volunteers are needed to help with pole planting. Participants should bring a bag lunch and plenty to drink. Come dressed in work clothes, including a hat, gloves and boots that you don't mind getting muddy.
