Recycle Newspapers & Aluminum Cans, 8:30-11:30 a.m. Lot south of Ace Hardware. The City of Socorro partners with the Socorro High School football team and Honor Society in this project. For more info, call 575-835-8927. The recycling site will be available the first Saturday of every month.

National Tomohawk and Knife ThrowingChampionship, 9 a.m. Willie M. Chavez Park on East River Road, Belen. Competitors from across the U.S. will compete for cash and prizes in this event that replicates similar contests in the days of Kit Carson and Jim Bridger.
