20th Annual Festival of the Cranes Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge. The largest event in Socorro County held each year the week before Thanksgiving. The event has dozens of workshops, birding tours, plant tours, keynote speakers, cowboy breakfast, fine arts show, photography seminars and a holiday crafts show. Festival of the Cranes Keynote Speaker, 8 p.m. Macey Center. Dr. Peter Raven speaks on "How Many Species Will Survive the 21st Century?" Rates of extinction are increasing. Tickets are $5 each.
