The book is a biography of Charles McCarty, a young cowboy who participated in the famous shootout with Elfego Baca in Reserve. According to Harvey, after the event Baca became well known but no one knew what happened to McCarty. Harvey's book tells all. The author is also married to one of McCarty's granddaughters.
