Jo Hill

Socorro Magistrate Judge Felix Saavedra ruled last Thursday that the Jo Hill homicide case be bound over to district court. In an emotional preliminary hearing, Hill pled not guilty to the charge of Murder in the First Degree.

The murder trial of Jo Hill, originally scheduled to be heard by District Judge Mercedes Murphy on January 27, 2020, will now be heard by Judge Shannon Murdock on November 4, 2019. Hill, 39, of San Antonio, Texas, pleaded not guilty to the charge of first degree murder at his arraignment in Seventh District Court on Wednesday, June 16. The first degree murder charge stems from the fatal shooting of Stuart Gordon in the parking lot of High Country Lodge in Magdalena on May 13.

Prosecuting attorney for the District Attorney’s office is Ronald Vincent LoLordo.

Hill is being represented by attorneys Todd Ellis Farkas and Benjamin Michael Smith.
