Short, sweet and to the point. That was the way to describe last week’s Socorro City Council meeting that lasted a mere 12 minutes.
On tap was a loan agreement for the Wastewater Treatment Plant improvements was well as improvements to the wastewater collection system. The city entered into an agreement with the Rural Community Assistance Corporation (USDA) to help finance the both projects to the tune of $1.6 million.
The council also approved three budget resolutions which included the USDA Wastewater System Improvement Project, USDA Wastewater Collection System Improvement Project as well as the Revolving Loan fund.
In other business, the council:
* Approved the city’s fiscal year budget for 2019-2020 as approved by the State of New Mexico Department of Finance and Administration’s Local Government Division.
* Approved a Letter of Interest from Sacred Wind Enterprises to help develop a broadband network intended to serve the residents, businesses and other entities located within and around the City of Socorro.
